About
Having a keen interest in sport and physiotherapy I first went to university to study Sports Rehabilitation, which led to me working within professional football and rugby league for 5 years. Working with Oldham Athletics’ first team and academy, Oldham Rugby League and Leigh Centurions. Within these roles I saw a variety of acute injuries, along with long term rehabilitation, from minor ankle strains to 9-month Anterior Cruciate Ligament reconstruction & rehabilitation. Dealing with the high-pressure environment of getting the players back into the first team squad following injury, while also monitoring the players training load, and ensuring correct and effective strengthening was being completed to aid performance. Following this passion I went back to university, to complete my masters in physiotherapy to further my knowledge on treating not only professional athletes, but the whole population.
While completing my masters and being on placement within a women’s health physiotherapy department, I have developed a keen interest in women’s health physiotherapy focusing on ante/post-natal ladies. To be able to help these ladies throughout their pregnancy and then to assist them postnatally, to return to activities they enjoyed prior is really rewarding.
In my spare time I enjoy training in the gym, taking her dog out for long walks, watching
football and socialising with family and friends.
