Sometimes called Spinal Manipulative Therapy, Spinal Mobilisation Techniques are hands-on passive oscillatory movements of the bones of the spine (the vertebrae).

They create movement of the joint surfaces and can also gap the joints themselves. The goal is to increase movement of the spinal segments and relieve pressure on pain inducing structures around the spine (nerve roots, intervertebral discs, ligaments). As the movement of the spine improves and pain reduces, normal function of the body will be restored.

Benefits of Spinal Manipulation & Mobilisation

Scientifically proven

Following a thorough verbal and physical examination your therapist will advise you if these techniques are appropriate. The rhythmical movement of the joints increases joint lubrication and reduces joint stiffness. Normal movement of the spine is restored, relieving pain and aiding a full functional recovery of the body.
