❤️🩹POST-OPERATIVE REHABILITATION❤️🩹
One of the most common settings that people find physiotherapists is on the wards in hospital where people have had orthopaedic surgery. Physio’s help these people get up and moving as quickly as possible so they can then get home. However once home it is extremely important to carry on your rehabilitation otherwise you risk making little benefit from the surgery if the joint remains too stiff or the muscles remain too weak.
What can we do for you if you have had an Orthopaedic Operation?
If you have had a surgery such as a hip or knee replacement, a shoulder rotator cuff repair or internal metal fixation from a fracture (broken bone), we will assess you and let you know if physiotherapy is appropriate for you (It normally always is!). We will check your operation site to ensure make sure things are healing as they should be, and then we will put together a post-op rehab plan within our on-site gyms that is tailored to you and will progress you at the right pace in order to get the most possible benefit from your surgery. We have on-site gyms filled with all of the equipment you will need to aid your recovery. We will also provide a home exercise programme that you will be able to follow independently at home. If necessary we will liaise with your surgeon to ensure we put together the most appropriate programme for you. We also have a very good relationships with some of the North West’s leading Orthopaedic Consultants who we can refer you to if we feel you may benefit from further Specialist Consultant advice.
